But I can do it myself....

Yes.
You CAN probably do it yourself, so why invest in a coach?
We live in the age of information. Almost ANYTHING can now be found in a blog, website, video, recorded lecture or even in a good old-fashioned textbook. Information is EVERYWHERE and in every imaginable format.
Need some background or references for an article you are writing? Search engines will get you started.
Can't remember the equation? There's probably an app.
Veterinary surgical techniques? Check out a YouTube video
Need to make your own invoices/website/email list? You know that a helpful blog post or podcast somewhere will have what you need.
This holds true for softer skills too….
Would you like better habits? there's numerous resources including this one.
Feel like you need to work on confidence? public speaking? interview technique? or communication skills?
There is a myriad of tips, testimonials, books and advice available.
You can absolutely find the information (often for free), consume it, and apply it to your life. And lots of it is helpful and accessible.
However,
One thing with finding all the information and making changes on your own is that
IT TAKES TIME.
IT TAKES ENERGY
IT TAKES COMMITMENT
Figuring out WHAT to do first, then HOW to apply it then reviewing, refining and repeating takes time, energy and consistency. The sheer volume of information to wade through can often stop you before you even start. Sound familiar?
Coaching accelerates the process but not because your coach has all the answers. A fresh pair of eyes with a different perspective on your unique situation, can be a game changer on its own. But when you bring in coaching skills and tools, boosted with accountability and enthusiasm for your success, coaching helps everything come together more quickly. You still have to do the work, but you can proceed with confidence knowing you are moving towards the life you want.
In the same way that attending a class can hone your skills more quickly and efficiently than leaning from a book or through your own trial and error; coaching can work from a book too (I like this one), but it is infinitely better in person.
Learning new things on our own can be fun, particularly if we are able to take our time, and I don’t want to stop you learning something you are keen on – hello Duolingo streak?
but when it comes to the bigger things….
You know that interview? it’s got a closing date.
That amazing life you want? It won’t come any closer until you start actively calling it in.
Feeling stagnant because of a lack of confidence? – this time next year nothing will have changed unless you begin to take action.
Are you scrolling LinkedIn, checking job adverts and justifying why you aren’t applying for them? Someone else is sending in their CV and making that deadline.
How will you feel if you are still exactly where you are now in 5 years time?
That big change that keeps nudging you, that deep down you KNOW you want? Telling yourself you aren’t ready is keeping you firmly in place.
What if you knew could do it?
What if you absolutely couldn’t fail?
What if you had both a plan and support?
How would it feel to have someone in your corner while you work towards your dream?
How would things gather momentum if you knew your coach was checking in with your progress?
Yes, you might be able to do it yourself, but how much longer would it take?
Yes you could do it on your own, but what happens when life gets in the way and it slips down your priority list or you aren’t sure what the next step is?
Yes, you can do anything, learn anything, BE anything,
but coaching with the right coach?
It is the catalyst for your next-level life and career.
It will still take time, energy and commitment, but much less than if you were going it alone.
So, one last question –
Why do it yourself when I can coach you to success?
Let’s start today, your success shouldn’t have to wait.
